![]() ![]() For example imagine a new Dark Souls game getting released with a vibrant and happy atmosphere. This doesn’t mean a restriction of colors but when lighter colors are chosen it would have a duller/more faded tone. The Diablo series (with the exception of Diablo 3) has always had dark and sinister tone to the atmosphere. ![]() Anything that doesn’t benefit said specific class should be blocked from rolling on gear. For example if you are playing a Barbarian or Sorceress you should only get items with bonuses that benefit them. Also, Stats should only roll on gear that will help that class. ![]() Make the items drop just enough people aren’t spending up to a decade to hunt but also not common enough to where it still feels rewarding to get said item. Gear in Diablo 4 shouldn’t be quite as rare as Diablo 2 but also not as common as Diablo 3. I will agree that the tooltips could be written better to help players navigate the skills and stats. Granted, Diablo 2 didn’t hold anyone’s hand like Diablo 3. When it comes to stats and skills Diablo 2 did it better on the calculation side of things. For example the paragon system when used correctly can benefit and when done right the rifts/greater rifts can be utilized. ![]() If the number of people playing video games exploded in the 90s we may have seen Diablo 2 with higher numbers than Diablo 3 but this is just speculation.ĭon’t get me wrong as I do believe there is room for certain things from Diablo 3 but with the Diablo 2 polish. Most people looked for new releases not something at was already 5+ years old. The only reason Diablo 3 sold more copies than Diablo 2 is that it was on multiple platforms and the number of people playing video games exploded in the mid 2000s. However, Diablo 3 at the core hasn’t been better than Diablo 2. Diablo 3 got better over time but it was a train wreck at release. If I was in charge of Blizzard I would take what Diablo 2 did right and evolve/modernize this. I wouldn’t say less Diablo 2 as Diablo 3 was a misstep in direction. ![]()
